Working For A Startup

Quick Summary
For almost the last two decades, ‘Startup’ has been one of the most talked of, or, in some cases most influential topics in world business & economy. And Startups do deserve this influence if we look at the companies like Uber, Airbnb, or even Facebook. Startups are absolutely the prime idea generators. Actually, the reason why startups are created time after time is to transform the ideas of some obsessively passionate founders on some product or service, that the common people need but still aren’t available in their region or society, into reality.
Why Startups?
Unlike other mainstream companies, startups often don’t have that much manpower. In most cases, the founders are all the manpower they got. Sometimes they hire a number of people for some selective tasks, but the number remains small as there is not much resource & revenue at the beginning. And working for a startup is undoubtedly one of the best opportunities to improve oneself, especially for those who are starting their professional life.
Experience & Responsibility
The reason why it’s a great opportunity is that there are not many people in the team of a startup like other mainstream companies. But whether they have the manpower or not, they still have to manage different sectors of their company. And here comes the best part. As you work on a startup, be it as an employee or as one of the co-founders, you have to carry out different responsibilities. If you come up with a startup selling daily goods with your partners & you take up the position of the sales section, you might find yourself getting involved in the supply, management, or production section too. You can’t just deny helping someone from another section of your company, that you might do in other established companies, as you don’t have that much manpower.
Also as there are not many people, most often different important decisions of the company are taken by discussing with the whole team, regardless of which section you are working on. That’s a very big opportunity for anyone because you get to know almost the whole operation of the company. And obviously working in a different field out of your appointed one gives you a lot of new experiences, you get an extended view of what it's like to work on the other side. And we all know what the world is now all about, data & experience.
And these benefits not only apply to those who work full-time for these startups. Part-timers or interns often gather more knowledge & experience from working for startups than for regular companies.
Fresher-friendly
Startups are also very welcoming to freshers. While hiring, startups usually don’t demand a ton of experience like other established companies. For someone who is just entering the job market, he/she might gather his/her educational degrees, but most of them don’t have any experience. In most cases, startups don’t care if someone they are hiring has much experience or not, all that startups want from an employee or, we can say a partner, is the enthusiasm & the dedication to make things happen. And from a newcomer's point of view, that seems like a great opportunity.
Conclusion
Of course, working with a second responsibility might get quite stressful & exhausting at times, but if the passion, ideas, planning & their executions are done right, the best results are sure to come.
But after all, if the worst case happens, something goes wrong after trying everything possible to hold up the startup, there is not much to lose actually. You get a big hunch of experience, which is much valued in the current world situation. So for someone who is just getting into professional life or who is up to face some challenges to bring on some change, startups should end up on their top priority list to start with.
